HP Z640 workstation with dual cpu

I have the above workstation with dual xeon 12 core cpus. The second CPU sits in a riser card with it's own ram slots.
The mainboard has 2/4 ram slots filled with ddr4 2400mhz RAM and the riser card has the same, 2/4 slots with the same RAM.

I have 4x 16GB ram sticks which are almost the same spec but 2666mhz instead.

Can I fit them? For example I can keep the two groups separate for each cpu?
Would the faster ram modules just be running at the slower speed to match the others?

should work fine, faster ram usually downclocks to match the slower stuff

I was looking at buying one of those boxes, can you tell me how much power it consumes at idle please.?
