On support chat trying to get a replacement router.
The eero is garbage and getting worse.

Gf can no longer take teams calls.
And support says the signal is unstable.
The technician can even see issues on my laptop.

She's 2m from the router.

Garbage considering the old talk talk 3 year old router was absolutely flawless
YouFibre provided me with the rather generic looking "Arris" router for my GB connection. Although initially worried, as everyone else seemed to be getting the more recognised Eero - it has been absolutely flawless.

Eero is the worst router I've ever had.

1 ethernet port.
Terrible speed on 2.4ghz.
Can't create 2 SSIDs for 2.4 & 5ghz (which I really liked).
No ability to tweak advanced settings.

Apparently they are quite expensive. I even wonder if mine is faulty.
2m away and an unstable connection? How is that even possible?

Hope they can get it sorted one way or another for you @413x.

I've still got the Eero they provided and whilst not great I haven't experienced the issues you have. Looking to swap it out at some stage anyway for better performance and I'd like more control.

The one ethernet port is a pain and is resolved with a switch but it shouldn't be needed really.

That's what I think it's going to be replaced with

Me and the engineer did indeed decide to go from the eero to the arris.

Night and day difference.

In the end to bump the connection reliability up the router (eero) was allowed to choose the band. In a last ditch attempt to sort it.
This resulted on my work laptop being put on 2.4ghz. And Gfs too.

Gfs laptop is 2m away from the router and achieved 50mbps on 2.4ghz

Mine is 6-7m away and achieved... Drum roll.
8mbps.

Ridiculous.

So tried the arris.

Mine: 5ghz and 150/100
Gfs: 2.4ghz and 150/120

Crazy difference. No idea how the eero was so bad!

Being closer to the Wi-Fi Access Point doesn't necessarily mean you're going to get a better/faster connection, but it seems that the Eero devices you have are duff. Probably too busy sniffing all the traffic and sending it to Amazon to target ads.

For such an expensive piece of kit. It was ****.
Maybe it's to make people "mesh" them no matter how small their house is.

Glad it's gone. Only good thing about it was it looked nice.

But just like a woman.. Looks aren't important for long if shes unreliable and doesn't deliver!
