Im thinking about getting a laptop and i dont want to spend loads when it comes to it, my budget was £500 and for that i came across this spec for £530. I was looking at the vostro range but thought it was quite a high price for me and i can imagine it will be bulky and i herd a review saying it was heavy. Then i looked at HP at the new pavilions, they look nice, ive seen one in up front but the specs are not so special.

What made me look at this acer was the fact it had an amazing spec, i didnt originally want a laptop for gaming but im not sure about this acer, it has a ATI Mobility Radeon X2400 XT is this a good card? as in my old hp laptop i had a x600 and it run battlefield 2 on highish settings.

so what do you guys think?

Good site for roughly comparing laptop GPU's.

According to that site, X2400XT gets around 1800 in 3DMark 06.

The 8600MGT in the Vostro get around 3300 in that same benchmark for comparison.

I know 3DMark should be taken as the gospel but its the only thing we can compare the GPU's with at the moment.

Btw, the Vostro 1500's official weight is 2.87 kg.
