Looking to get my 335i serviced in the next few weeks.

Had some lolworthy quotes, but finally managed to find a dealer i can negotiate with and got them down to £323 for:

- Oil Service (i'm providing the oil - only cost me £45 and they wanted £120 just for the oil!)
- Spark plugs
- Air filter
- Vehicle inspection

Is this a decent deal? In line with what other people have paid?

It's decent if changing the plugs is a 6 hour job :D

A very very early OEM sat-nav system which had simple arrows on the screen together with voice instructions. :)

I was going to be hyper critical but I guess that back in 2001 it was advanced. Plus mine doesn't have it so I'm in no position to criticise. I see it had bluetooth too. Was it quite highly specced?

It was never advanced - it was offered as a cheaper alternative to the full widescreen colour navigation system also offered alongside it. Since about 2001 BMW have always tended to offer a 'Business' and a 'Professional' Navigation option, with Pro being the proper system and Business being the cheaper alternative. In early E60's Business was again just arrows, it later evolved to a smaller 2d map, now it's similar to professional but with a smaller screen and no hard drive.

Don't think it has Bluetooth, certainly not on a 2001 car.

Probably the best place to ask so, does anyone know what is a reasonable cost for a brake fluid service on my 335i? I got quotes of £104 from both of the main dealers near to me. BMW warranty means I need to get it serviced at a main dealer but wanted to check what other people have paid recently (main dealer only as I know independents will be significantly cheaper).

Thats not a bad price but I think you could get cheaper if you shopped around. Depends if you're bothered on saving £20. If your car is older than 4 years make sure you ask for the 4 Plus discount, which is 10% off parts and labour. That should bring it down below £100.
I paid £94 for mine from Cooper Reading before the 4 Plus discount.

Thats pretty good. Is that the total price including 4 Plus? Do the price's differ for different 3 Series models? i.e. 320d, 330i, M3 etc.

There is a discount for older cars, I am taking the Z4 in next week and its the same price (even though its an easier job on a Z4)

Two more quotes and both were over a 100. They also stated 4 plus isn't available on condition based servicing vehicles...not sure if that's true or not?
