Hi,

Upfront somewhat bamboozled having tried to build a Mini ATX PC for gaming/ to act as a secondary/ alternative to my PS5.

I’ve read through many of the posts on here but don’t want to drop a load of items in my basket (with a view to getting it built by OCUK) … only to find out I’ve brought the wrong parts…

I’d mainly be playing COD MW2/3 – at 1440p to make the most of my monitor (which I also use for work)

LG 34" 34WP65CP-B 3440x1440 VA 160Hz 1ms FreeSync HDR10 Ultrawide Curved Gaming Monitor | OcUK (overclockers.co.uk)

I think this would all work ….

Case

Motherboard

GPU

RAM

SSD1

SSD2

CPU Cooler

PSU – not sure if I need an SFX specific one but this is only one in stock?

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/lian...0-plus-gold-power-supply-white-ca-7ap-ll.html

The Audio would, I assume come from the motherboard – I use headphones so not sure about an Audio Card?

There's probably other things that id need – please advise!

I'm trying to keep to a budget of 1100-1200 (though i don't yet know how much OCUK charge to build?

This is coming in at £1137...

Thank you

Matt

Hi and welcome.

The CPU you have chosen doesn't go with the motherboard and memory you need an AM5 CPU like the 7600.

If budget is a concern then you could get the 5600 CPU you chose with a b550 motherboard and DDR4 memory freeing up some finance.

The 3060 GPU is more suited to 1080p gaming and your monitor is at least 1440p should something stronger may be needed.

You can do better for you money if you don't go so small.

Agree with Tetras on getting the 4070 over the 3060 if gaming at 1440P.

Also, ITX is a pain and lovely once built as it’s small and powerful but maintenance is tricky and you can’t add another pci-e device like you can with mATX so just keep that in mind.

That B760i is very well priced and leaves some money left over for a possible change to the RTX 4070.

@Tetras & @mickyflinn

That's really really helpful - thank you both.

Just as well i didn't go ordering blind!

After taking your advice I had a look at the 4070 - did the usual read reviews and it seems the Radeon RX 7800 is better (and cheaper), so by combining the build from @Tetras... i've cobbled together this:

This would now be the build:

Coming in at just over £1200...

The only thing I'm not sure about is if the graphics card and ram are right form the motherboard?

Otherwise everything is compatible?

Anyone know how much OC charge to do a build?

Thanks

Matt

Pretty much sold on getting a decent card now, hopefully the build is workable...

Admittedly there is definitely an element of aesthetics with the M ITX case, though i've justified it in that it will sit perfectly in the corner of my desk....

Adding things later certainly was a part of the thought but im not sure what id add - i did look at extra case cooling or an "all in one cooler" but not sure if that's necessary (or would actually fit...)

Having a blue case with a black motherboard and a white CPU cooler is going to look trashy.

I would suggest the black cooler or aio cooler with RGB if you prefer.

For an extra £20 you can get the 12400 which has integrated graphics which the F version does not, this can be handy as a back up or for fault finding especially if you don't have another GPU.

Would just get a 2tb m2 drive and particion 500gb for windows and apps leaving 1.5 tb for games . This will free up a m2 slot for further expansion.

This is a solid option.

Thanks on the advice re the 12400. Swapped out in my basket as is the M2SSD.

Fair comment on the aesthetics, Thermaltake do an AIO in the same colour, but OCUK don't stock so its off the cards if OCUK do the build.

Assume everything else is workable/ compatible?

Thanks for the continued advice

Yes everything is compatible.

What about putting in a normal cooler as there's room something like this.

Or aio water cooler .

Sounds petty, but i assume the 212 Halo would face up when mounted? I'd prefer it to sit flush against the board having seen some builds online that's klnd of the 'look' i was after

Just dropped a note into OCUK to quote - and queried an AIO, there's some that might not blow the budget entirely. Just a shame they dont stock this https://uk.thermaltake.com/toughliquid-240-argb-sync-turquoise-all-in-one-liquid-cooler.html
Mite not fit upwards due to motherboard , etc . But you could ask.

Understand about budget running away but there's nothing worse than looking at something that doesn't look astecially pleasing.

Found something cheaper.
