Mitac branded 386 SX33 in about 1996 ish
4mb ram 85mb hard disk
512mb VGA ISA card
Floppy drive
Windows 3.1 and DOS 6.2

Gutted when I was given a copy of Doom and it failed to load. The difference a DX made back then. I still have the hard disk and on a mission to rebuild a system but this time with a DX or 486 and a CDRom. Just need to find a decent priced board and CPU to complete it

60MB hdd
Windows 3.1 and DOS6.2

I added and Orchid sound card that was awful, especially coming from Amiga and Snes.

Dan Technologies in 1996:
Pentium 133, 16 MB, Matrox Millenium 2 MB WRAM, Soundblaster AWE32, CD-ROM, 100 MB Zip drive and a 2 GB HDD. Also a 33.6k modem.
Win 95 and an Iiyama Vision Master Pro 17 (although I wanted a 15 Sony Trinitron as soon as I saw one in the flesh, for the 90s flat CRT goodness).

the first i can remember is a coolermaster HAF case, Asus pro mobo, 2500k, 1tb hdd, 8gb ram, seasonic 620w psu
it was a good PC back then and much easier on the wallet than 2022 PC`s

My 1st PC was a Mitac too, similar spec. in 1994. I had a 250mb HDD though. I added a extra 4mb of ram, sound card & CD rom then shoehorned in a DX4 100 overdrive chip. kept it for 3 years. Replaced it with Pentium 166mmx from Evesham Micros. Most I ever spent on a PC.

I think as our family computer we had something very similar only the out the factory door aga-tech version. I remember the 13” screen the most mainly because when my own screen broke later I was trying to use it and it wouldn’t go above 800x600! I thought we would have had it in 1993-4? I remember playing 7th guest, then Return to Zork and Myst

The first PC I got for my self after saving up from my part time job was from a local shop. I had an AMD Athlon 500 with a GeForce 256 card which was fab at the time!

Built mine out of old parts some from a friend, some from local electrical shop and a chassis that was going to be chucked out at the Uni. The PSU was an old industrial type that was so big it didnt fit inside the chassis so it was velcro'd to the top of the chassis and the cables routed through the hole.

It was a 486 SX25 with 4mb of Ram and a Vesa Local bus graphics card. It ran Alone in the Dark tho :)

So no name PII 233 MMX
16mb RAM
6GB HDD

This was in 98. It was crap then and I knew it. It was all I could afford after saving up £600 over the summer.

The first game I played was DOOM and I loved it.

First proper family pc was a 486 sx25 Olivetti machine. Great machine

First machine I built with my dad was a DX2-66 box with a 4mb S3 virge 3d card, this soon became a DX4-100 and the S3 was piggy backed with the gen 1 voodoo 4mb accelerator card.....WORLD TRANSFORMED OVERNIGHT!
