Ok I have signed up, some of the clips/screenies on here look too good to miss.

What do I do now, buy a ship pack and go from there?

Normally i would advise people to wait for a freefly event, that way you can get a feel for it before putting any money down, i don't know when the next one is.

If you don't want to wait the first thing you will need is a game pack, which includes a starter ship and the game, the cheapest one is the Aurora linked below. Its £43.20.


But my advice would be to get the Drake Cutter package, its currently only about £5 more and contains a much better starter ship.


The game is complex, but there is a basic in game tutorial, chose that option when you first log in, it will get you familiar with the basic fundamentals.

First install the launcher from here, log in with your account details and install the game.


While its downloading maybe watch this video, again it will give you the basic gist of it.


Beyond that whatever you can't figure out just ask here or even in the in game chat (F12) will will answer as best we can :)

Mind you. That video will be super outdated when 3.23 comes out!

I'd wait until 3.23 drops and wait for boredgamer etc to post a similar video for it

A few here are going. I'll let them say who.

I'm most likely not going though. I would need to make a call on it in a couple of months. I would love to go

What's the quickest way of making money could really do with a cash injection (in game obviously rl money would be a bonus too)

Salvaging C2's, don't bother with hull stripping and all that, sometime they contain valuable cargo, illegal cargo that needs to be sold at junk yards, rent a Drake Vulture, buy some small salvaging claims, do them just to level up until you get the C2 and A2 claims.

Star Citizen Alpha Patch 3.23.0​

Alpha Patch 3.23.0 has been released to EPTU, and is now available to test! Patch should now show: VERSION 3.23.0-EPTU.9145576.

It is strongly recommended that players delete their USER folder for the Public client after patching, particularly if you start encountering any odd character graphical issues or crash on loading. The USER folder can be found (in default installations) at C:\Program Files\Roberts Space Industries\StarCitizen\EPTU.

Characters in this new environment will be built from LTP data so items such as medpens, ammo, rentals, and refinery jobs will be lost.

Server Info: US/EU - EPTU Channel - PU/AC Replication Layer Enabled/Recovery Enabled
Starting aUEC: 15,000,000

Note: This patch does not contain all of the intended features, which will be added iteratively to the notes as they become available. Additionally, some features may be implemented in a partial state and as such are not ready for testing. When those features reach a playable state they will be detailed on the notes and added to the "Testing Focus". Please issue council all issues related to those in testing focus and in general gameplay.

Known Issues
For 3.23, Server Crash Recovery will remove all current missions and mark them as abandoned. This will not reduce reputation when this occurs. This could cause a few trespassing issues in locations like UGFs.
Distribution Center missions sometimes show the wrong location markers inside so might be difficult to know exactly where you need to go to.
Server and Client Performance is something we are constantly monitoring and working on fixes and changes for 3.23. Currently we are seeing quite a few issues that are reducing the experience and looking into these.
  • AC - Backend / Network - Searching for a Match will always load a new instance despite other matches waiting for players
Please Avoid Multiplayer Arena Commander for this build as it will not matchmake you with other players. Single Player AC will work.
  • PU - Vehicle Purchase Kiosk - Shopping / Locations - Unable to purchase vehicles from kiosks
  • PU - Cargo / Weapons - Tractor Beam - Handheld Tractor Beams will instantly deactivate when attempting to move items [Encountered but resolved in a later CL]
  • PU - Stanton - Hurston/Crusader - Lorville/Orison - Locations / Transit - Lorville/Orison transits are off set from the station doors causing visual and collision issues
  • PU - Shopping / Art / UI / Locations - Weapon display in stores are rotated 90 degrees
  • PU - Multiple Locations - Locations / Art - GrimHEX and Kareah airlocks are missing breathable air and doors
  • Stanton - GrimHEX - Locations / Actor Feature - Player corpses will not despawn at GrimHEX
  • PU - Stanton - Locations - Grim Hex - Hospital - Elevator - Elevator is missing at Grim Hex's hospital
  • PU - Stanton - Character - HUD / UI - No body marker after death
  • PU - FPS Weapons / Audio - Player gunfire is missing audio
  • PU - Stanton - Lorville - Female / AI - Females - There are no female social AI present around Lorville
  • PU - Interactions / UI - Panels become unresponsive, after highlighting interactables
  • PU - Terminal - Locations / Interactions / UI - Unable to interact with the Medical Insurance Terminal to manage regeneration

Features and Gameplay​

  • Improved the AI usable fallback to avoid AI using objects incorrectly (standing on boxes, chairs, benches, etc.)
Gameplay
  • IFCS - Gravity Compensation & Automatic Precision Mode
A couple of safety functions have been added to IFCS to keep players safe. Currently there are no UI indications for their states as they will be part of the new MFDs which will ship after 3.23. However we added keybinds so you can still enable / disable them:
  1. Gravity compensation is now enabled by default in coupled and decoupled modes in areas with gravity, independent whether the landing gear is in or out. You will find the keybinds under Flight - Movement at the bottom of the list. They are labelled as Gravity Compensation.
  2. Automatic Precision Mode enforces a maximum speed limit of 20 to 30 m/s when your landing gear is out or extending (later we will extend that to flying within hangars, etc.). You will find the keybinds under Flight - Movement at the bottom of the list. They are labelled as Automatic Precision Mode.
  • Weapon Regen Pool: Increasing regeneration output by 25%, meaning weapons will regenerate ammo quicker
  • Removed the crosshair from the Ship Magnification setting
  • mobiGlas home page: Performance Update: Main Page will now only list ships that have had their initial spawn location set
  • Updated Contracts Page to match visual style of the rest of the mobiglas and fixed missing icons
  • Made minor UI tweaks to looting inventory tabs visuals, and added looting icons for attachments and weapons

Core Tech
  • Made Various Physics Performance Improvements
  • Made Various UI Performance Improvements
  • Made Further Server Performance Optimizations
  • Updated DLSS SDK to 3.7.0
  • Updated Tobii to Version 9.0.3.25

  • Fixed - Multivehicle - PU - Vehicles / UI - Vehicle HUD - Vehicle HUD is missing UI elements
  • Fixed - Distribution Centers: Player falls through floor near grid zone transition portals
  • Fixed - Multivehicle - PU - Vehicles / Physics - Grav-Lev Vehicles will bounce and rotate violently if dismounted with engine running low to the ground

I'm likely going to focus on EPTU again once we get this bloomin box mission done and help anyone else needing those missions sorted!

It's too confusing to switch between when it's fundamental keybind changes, my old brain can't take it :)
