Nothing booked for me until the 29th.
Well I did do the gig.
Sleaford Mods at the O2 Victoria Warehouse, Big Special were supporting.

Big Special are decent, I bought tickets for their gig on the 16th Dec halfway through the set.

Sleaford Mods. I like most of their stuff. I really like their collabs with Amy Taylor and Billie Nomates for example.

Live, it just doesn't tweak me.
Jason had a bottle on the top of his head the whole time, what's that all about......

I have come to the conclusion that Sleaford Mods are weaponised autism in musical form.

Next gig, The Big Moon in Manchester tomorrow.

Thats a shame, I've always enjoyed them live, seen them 3 or 4 times.

Last night was Gogol Bordello at Rock City, it was absolutely packed and they were fantastic, what a show they put on as usual. So frenetic, they have the energy of Bob Vylan and Gentleman's dub club combined! :D

Loved one of the support bands too, Pete and Diesel. A 3 piece from Stornoway consisting of guitar, drums and accordion who make one hell of a sound. Very celtic folk/punk. I was thinking it reminded me of the Pogues, then they played a tribute to someone recently passed...Dirty Old Town!

And just booked tickets to see Beans on Toast in Feb, he's playing just down the road in Lincoln and it's someone I've fancied seeing for a while.

Did anyone else catch Lorna Shore on their round?

Caught them in London and mega impressed at how tight they were but also the sound engineer deserves a knighthood.

So, just got back in from Manchester.

The Big Moon were awesome.
Genuine feel good stuff, definitely worth everyone's time.
I'd been looking forward to this gig for a couple of months and I'm pleased to say I am over the moon with what I've seen and heard (pun fully intended).
The vibe from the crowd was epic and infectious.

Its OK to feel things, my dudes.

Liz Lawrence was on for about 30mins, and smashed every second of it.

Next up, Big Special on the 16th.

I did, went to Birmingham to see them. Only really knew the one song, Sun Eater (?), but thoroughly enjoyed the whole show, including the supports.

Big Special @ YES! Manchester
Supported by Sustinere along with Griot Gabriel.

Griot is a spoken word artist and poet.
He's good, had the crowd totally fixated.
If that's your thing check out @griotgabriel on Instagram.

Sustinere, never heard of them until last night.
A very good 2 piece band.
Awesome sound.
Great discography available on Spotify.
Worth your time.

Big Special.
Once again, smashed it.
Interaction with the crowd was great, had a good laugh and we all had a good sing song.

All artists chilled out and we're mingling with the crowd through the night.

As usual, I bought band merch.
If you like the band, you should buy the merch.
I don't have a vinyl player, but I bought the vinyl.
These purchases help the smaller bands/artists more than you know.

That's it for me until January 27th, unless I spot something that gets my juices flowing.
