Chaos Dwarfs are quite a fun race to play, once you get used to their resource system.

Thinking I'm gonna go Lizardmen on my next game though.

I briefly played Empire again, as Karl Franz, just so I could unlock the new legendary hero. And geez, did it remind me what a *********** that campaign is. I've enjoyed the Chaos Dwarves, too. But now I've sampled what's to offer with this new patch/DLC I think I'll start a new Dwarven or High Elves immortal empires campaign.

I may just need to restart the campaign tutorial but I have a hero 'Zorya', It's telling me that my hero hasn't moved so I moved her around the map and I have an option to attack an army and damage it.
Is this how heroes behave in game? I don't understand why I can see abilities she's got if I can't actually use her in battles

You can embed them within your army by moving them into the hex your general is within. They boost XP via their presence and will act and fight in battle as part of that army. You can disengage them from your army at any time too, to move them independently and complete specialist actions such as attacking a city's walls, attacking/blocking an enemy army etc.

Thank you. I have a feeling I may just never be good at this game, I am really bad at the battles but we shall see. I have no familiarity with Warhammer outside of 40K which doesn't help.

There are some players who auto-resolve all battles, preferring to only engage with the game on the overworld map at a strategic level. Choose a faction that fits your playstyle, and stick with them to get a feel for the game. If you're new to Warhammer, and Total War games in general, you probably don't want to be using a faction that requires a lot of micro-managing to start with eg. Skaven, Wood elves.

Is this worth picking up? I've never been able to finish a campaign with the second game :D
I wouldn't pay full price, but at £20-25 you should get your money's worth.

However a big part of it may come down to why you didnt finish TW2. There are a few good tweaks to the gameplay, but the base ideas are the same. If you have Game Pass pc it's a good way to try.

I'm interested to see what the Empire/Dwarf overhauls going to be like.

I love starting off as Dwarfs, but by mid game, I get bored of them.

I've read it fleeces you for micro transactions and "optional DLC". Is that true? Do you get a complete full game and value for money?
